Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.
We had a major rain storm here yesterday. Andy says he doesn't recall ever seeing it rain so hard. It lasted a good part of the day. Thanks be to God that there was little wind or we would have had a mess. This morning was so beautiful......great sunshine and pleasant temperature. The flowers were happy, happy. They all got hydrated and there's some to spare.
This Hosta is in the lattice room. It's filled out so nicely and is the centerpiece of the garden.
Japanese Lanterns. One of my favorite Fall plants. They work great in centerpieces. It's a little early for it to bloom.
Salidago or Golden Rod. It's one of the smaller cultivars. You can see that it's ready and waiting for Fall!
Looking NW. There's so much life in the garden. Plants are blooming, spreading seed, getting bigger, letting me know if they're happy where they are not to mention feeding birds, butterflies and a myriad of other critters.
Out on one of our flower excursions, Fran and I came across a place that was selling miniature Basil just like the ones in this pic. I grew them from a discounted seed packet.....you don't want to know what they wanted for it!
Black-eyed Susans....am I obsessed with them?? Could be.....all I know is that they give great color to the garden and are indestructible.
The mint is blossoming.
It's pretty but still a mystery. Any ideas?
Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate. One plant I would have passed by because it grows wild here. I saw it in pics taken by Corner Garden Sue. From what I got on the internet, it was a favorite of Victorian Gardens.
Lobelia just starting to bloom. Fran gave me one plant two years ago and it is all over the place. I love plants that do that. It gives me so much to choose from.
Still don't know what this plant is but it's very pretty and seems to be hearty. The leaves are variegated.
Today, I'm grateful for the beauty of this world!
